WA IPSANZ branch committee invites members of the profession to a frank and detailed discussion on the major changes, including:

Continuing Professional Development – all registered attorneys will be expected to meet a minimum amount of continuing professional education, which will become necessary for renewal of registration from 1 July 2009

·      Pre-registration employment requirements –  particularly relevant to firms with unregistered professional staff, there will be a requirement to complete 2 years of pre-registration employment as well as requiring an Australian registered patent attorney of at least 5 years standing to provide a skills certificate attesting to the particular skills as prescribed in the amended regulations;
